A tragic wrong-way accident occurred in San Diego on August 23rd that was responsible for taking the life of a mother, her daughter, and a YouTube star [Source: Fox 5 San Diego]. The accident also left multiple vehicles that had been traveling on I-805 damaged, destroyed, and some even in flames. Fox 5 San Diego reported that 18-year-old Trevor Heitmann of Carmel Valley initiated the crash after he began driving in his black McLaren 650S the wrong way on the interstate. Read more
When you lose someone to a drunk driving accident or any other type of traffic collision, not only are you losing the person, “but also a part of yourself.” Those were the words spoken by Karen Lei, a resident of San Diego. Lei lost her fiancé who worked as a San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputy back in 2010. Ken Collier had been in pursuit of a suspected drunk driver when he was killed in an accident and Lei says there isn’t a day that goes by that she doesn’t remember that she lost him. Read more

June 30th was a tragic day for the family and friends of surfer and lifeguard Chloe Buckley as she was killed in a single-vehicle car accident in San Diego. Buckley was heading westbound on state Route 52 in her 2002 Toyota 4Runner when she lost control of her vehicle near Convoy Street [Source: CBS 8]. Her SUV then rolled, flipped over the center divider, and landed in the eastbound lanes. It then caught fire. Sadly, Buckley died at the scene of the accident. Read more

There has been a spate of recent construction accidents that have resulted in injury and death for construction workers.
A scaffold fell on three construction workers in a new construction apartment complex near Petco Park. The men were working on the scaffold when it collapsed. They fell at least 16 feet to the ground, according to witnesses, and sustained severe, life-threatening injuries that resulted in hospitalization for two of the victims. Read more
